A man who told staffers in the Erie County Medical Center emergency room that he had been stabbed was arrested Saturday on charges of burglarizing a woman’s home.
Derell Porter, no age and address released, was charged by Ferry-Fillmore District police with two felonies – second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal contempt – as well as petit larceny, child endangerment and harassment.
An East Ferry Street woman who has a Family Court order of protection against Porter told police that he came to her home about noon Saturday and said he’d break a side window if she wouldn’t let him in. When she refused, Porter allegedly smashed the window, entered the home, slapped the woman’s face and stole about $70 out of her purse before fleeing in a blue car.
Porter turned up at ECMC later in the afternoon to be treated for a laceration on his right arm. He claimed he had been stabbed, but police determined he cut his arm breaking the woman’s window.
