Hacker uses SUNY account to porn-bomb Twitter

If you follow the State University of New York on Twitter, some of Saturday's tweets might have shocked you.

The SUNY account -- followed by about 18,000 people on the social network -- was hacked, name-changed to "Latarsha Crenshaw" and used to send out pornographic images and solicitations.

The images, which showed a partially undressed woman and are assuredly not suitable for use in a family newspaper, drew both consternation and amusement.

According to Jon Dougherty, a Time Warner Cable news anchor/reporter in Albany, the hack went unnoticed for 27 minutes. By Saturday night, all evidence of the pornographic tweets had been expunged from SUNY's Twitter account.

"We at SUNY noticed the issue," the account tweeted at 6:13 p.m. "Even the country's largest system of higher ed can be social hacked. Our experts will have more info this week."
