Show dad how great he is by taking him to a super-cool event or two

Dads are cool, brave, smart, funny and all-around fabulous. Sure, he never wants to stop and ask for directions, but he fixes things, grills up a storm, and gives the best hugs. This weekend is a great time to remind him just how much you care.

Father's Day is June 19 and we have some great ways to celebrate dad this weekend as we lead up to his special day. Here are some fun and wild ways to show him how special he is.

A WILD DAY WITH DAD

BBQ AND WILD ANIMALS; DAD'S GONNA LOVE THIS

Hidden Valley Adventure’s Dad’s Day Barbecue, June 19 (2887 Royce Road, Varysburg; 585-535-4100 for reservations). Serve up some good fun and food at Hidden Valley. Take a safari ride through the animal adventure and get some barbecue for dad. They’ll be serving all dad's favorite foods including ribs, steak and bison burgers. A DAD TO LOOK UP TO

Celebrate dad by remembering one of Buffalo's favorite sons - and fathers: Tim Russert. Head over to the Buffalo History Museum (One Museum Court) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18. Get this - dads are free - but so is the whole family. Take a tour of the exhibit "Inside Tim Russert's Office" for an up-close and personal look at the legendary journalists' office.
