Lockport man imprisoned for having knife in fight

LOCKPORT – Willie R. Bogar, who according to attorneys brought a knife to a fist fight, which he lost, was sentenced Thursday to 1½ to three years in state prison.

Bogar, 44, of Garden Street, Lockport, had pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. When he pleaded guilty in April, it was reported that Bogar was given the wrong address for an apartment on Cottage Street in Lockport, which he wanted to rent. The two men already living there punched Bogar, who left but soon came back up the stairs to the apartment with the knife. The men knocked Bogar, who was reportedly intoxicated, back down the stairs.

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon also gave Bogar concurrent one-year sentences for a pair of unrelated drug misdemeanors.
