Free-trade agreements are a hot topic in the presidential election, with the Trans-Pacific Partnership under attack by candidates of both major parties.
But William C. Lane remains a steadfast supporter of free-trade deals.
Lane was a longtime lobbyist for industrial powerhouse Caterpillar Inc. before retiring last year. But he remains active in global trade issues. Lane will be the featured keynote speaker at World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara’s World Trade Celebration 2016 on Wednesday at Riverworks.
The Hill.com called Lane “a central player in the push to get the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal across the finish line,” naming him to its list of the top corporate lobbyists last year. Lane is also president emeritus of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.
