One of the region’s newest breweries is toasting its three-medal win at this year’s New York International Beer Competition.
East Aurora’s 42 North Brewing Co. brought home gold, silver and bronze medals for its entries.
The brewery itself won a gold medal and was named Belgian Style Brewery of the Year.
Its Illumination Bohemian Pilsner received a bronze medal in the Bohemian Style Pilsner category. Its Wallonia Wit was awarded a silver medal in the Belgian Style Witbier category. The brewery said the Wallonia Wit is one of its most popular brews.
The contest, held in New York City, attracted contestants from 12 countries who entered 400 beers for judging.
The NYIBC is a discerning trade contests in the adult beverage industry. The judging panel at NYIBC is made up of industry beer buyers who awarded medals to less than half the entrants.
42 North opened in November. It is located at 25 Pine St. behind Vidler’s. It has a 3,000-square-foot tasting room, a 2,500-square-foot patio and a 20-barrel production floor.
