Beer Matters: 12 Gates, Rusty Nickel, Lockhouse Distillery and Pearl Street

Although 12 Gates Brewing Company has been open for nearly six months, it will celebrate its opening with a music festival, food and beer specials.

There will be live music, lawn games, contests and more. Confirmed bands include The CPX, Ten Cent Howl, Uncle Ben's Remedy, Rear View Ramblers, First Ward, Dr. Z and the Brothers, Sam Marabella and His Band, Ed Wyner & The Full Band.

Regular admission is $10 and includes entrance to the event, a limited-edition, grand-opening beer mug and a free first fill.

VIP admission is $20 and includes everything from the regular admission, plus a commemorative grand-opening T-shirt and the benefit of being first in line to purchase a bottle of a yet-to-be-revealed 22-ounce limited edition bottle.

Food trucks and other food vendors will be present The Flaming Fish, Lou Lou Bakes, OG Wood Fire Pizza, Lloyd Taco, KTB’s Bucking Pig BBQ, Cheesecake Guy and Covelli Custom Cream.

Rusty Nickel one-year anniversary party

Rusty Nickel will celebrate its one-year anniversary with live music, mixology specials, food and games.

Tickets are $11.54, $22.09 and $27.37 and can be purchased here.

  • General admission ($11.54 with fees): Ticket includes admission, anniversary glass, first beer and a brewery tour.
  • Nickel Pass ($22.09 with fees): Ticket includes admission, anniversary glass, first beer, a beer/cheese/chocolate pairing, entry into a swag/merchandise raffle, finger foods, VIP area and a brewery tour.
  • Imperial Pass ($27.37 with fees): Ticket includes admission, anniversary glass, a growler and half-off discount fill, a beer/cheese/chocolate pairing, entry into a swag/merchandise raffle, finger foods, VIP area and a brewery tour.

Live music will be performed by Ben Clifford, Jordan & Vicky, The Plagiarists, Imperial Brown, Randle and the Late Night Scandals.

Food will be prepared by Ebenezer Ale House, located next to the brewery.

Community Beer Works and Més Que Bar Takeover

Community Beer Works (CBW) and Més Que drinks will be featured at Lockhouse Distillery.

Live music by Pine Fever will start at 8 p.m. and the Blue Balls Bus food truck will be selling food.

The event will feature four beer cocktails made using CBW's beers. There will also be a number of CBW beers on tap, including:

  • That IPA (American IPA, 5.1 percent ABV)
  • Rutherford B. Haze (Belgian Wheat Ale, 5.1 percent ABV)
  • Interrobang‽ (American IPA, 7.2 percent ABV)
  • KS4: Hoppy Sour Saison (Sour Saison, 4.6 percent ABV)
  • The Whale (Brown Ale, 5.2 percent ABV)

In addition, a pin keg of Pantomime Horse (Adambier / Strong Ale, 9 percent ABV) will be tapped at 6 p.m.

Spirit of Buffalo Kölsch Release Party
7 p.m. June 7
Pearl Street Grill & Brewery

A Kölsch beer is a traditional German ale and is light in body and appearance. Its maltiness is subdued and its hoppiness is unobtrusive.

Pearl Street will be releasing its Spirit of Buffalo Kölsch on the fourth floor patio. This 5.4-percent ABV beer is brewed with classic German hops and imported malt and is slightly fruity.

Spirit of Buffalo Kölsch is brewed for the Spirit of Buffalo sailboat and can be found on board.

Other seasonal beers on tap for the event will include:

  • Gin-Spiced Saison: 7-percent spicy farmhouse ale
  • Cascade XPA: 5.8-percent extra hoppy pale ale
  • Czech Pils: 5.2-percent hoppy, light lager
