Iroquois school chorus to kick off Marilla concert series Wednesday


Marilla’s 2016 concert series kicks off Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by the Iroquois Middle School’s 7th and 8th grade chorus, followed by the school’s orchestra.

The performance takes place at the town pavilion.

The concert schedule resumes July 7 with a “Kids Day” magic show at noon. Ice cream will be provided. A movie night with free popcorn highlights July 14, with the feature beginning at dusk.

The Creek Band brings bluegrass music to the pavilion July 21, starting at 6:30 p.m. A second Kids Day on July 27 features the Nickel City Reptiles. Music returns on July 28 with a performance by the Divas Band.

Jack Civiletto sings Sinatra rounds out the summer portion of the concert schedule when he performs at noon August 4.

• The Iroquois High School band’s annual outdoor pops concert takes place Thursday at 7 p.m. on the side lawn of the school, 2111 Girdle Road, Elma.
