Drunk boyfriend goes to police barracks to pick up girlfriend charged with DWI

A woman charged early Friday with driving while intoxicated got picked up from the State Police barracks in Boston by her boyfriend.

He was drunk, too, State Police said.

Brianna Barrett, 25, was pulled over on Union Road in West Seneca at about 12:50 a.m. for driving without brake lights. Barrett, of West Seneca, failed field sobriety tests and then registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.11 percent back at the barracks, State Police said. She was charged with DWI.

Barrett’s boyfriend, Matthew A. Zych, 27, of Buffalo, came to pick her up at the barracks and appeared intoxicated, troopers said. He failed field sobriety tests and then registered a BAC of 0.08 percent. He was also charged with DWI.

Barrett’s due in West Seneca Town Court on June 10, while Zych is due in Boston Town Court on June 16.

The pair was released to a third party who picked them up at the barracks.

That person, police said, was sober.
