The Brooklyn Street Bridge at Akron Falls Park reopened Friday, meeting the goal to complete the replacement project by Memorial Day, according to the Erie County Department of Public Works.
The $700,000 capital project replaced the 70-foot steel bridge at the entrance to the county park, located off of Parkview Drive in Akron. The bridge was closed last July. The contractor for the project was Hunting Valley.
Akron Falls Park is used for a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, fishing, tennis, cross-country skiing, ice skating and sledding.
