RACZYNSKI - Mary Age 95, passed away peacefully May 23, 2016 at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, NY. She is survived by two daughters Stella Pennise of Canandaigua and Jeanette (Walter) Blonski of Toronto; three grandchildren: Dan (Lindsay) Pennise, Nick (Missy) Pennise and Angela Pennise and four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Reese, Clayton and Marlo Pennise. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Walter; son-in-law Russ Pennise; and three brothers: Henry, Jan and Josef Chudak. Mary was born in Borowiec, Poland to Antoni and Stanislawa (Wolska) Chudak. She was a WWII survivor. At the age of 19, she was taken by a German patrol car to work in Germany for the war effort for six years. After the war, she lived in a refugee camp (a converted concentration camp) for four years. In 1949, she married Walter, whom she met at the refugee camp and had her first child there. The American Red Cross sponsored them to immigrate to the United States. Mary was formerly of Clarence Center, NY, which was her home for 58 years. She worked most of her life for Szulis Greenhouses in Clarence Center. Mary loved gardening, raising produce, cooking, crocheting, dancing the polka with Walter and spending time with her family. She had a keen sense of humor and was always laughing. Mary had also been a resident of Horizons in Canandaigua for seven years. Her friends at Horizons called her "Grandma Giggles" and her family called her "Babcia." She had a lovely heart and will be dearly missed. Friends may call today (Thursday), from 5-8 pm at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 12 noon at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday at 11 am at Acacia Park Cemetery, 4215 Tonawanda
