Partisan politics have reached a shameful level
By the time this intense year-plus-long presidential nominating process is over, virtually every Republican politician (except for the local firm of Carl Paladino and Reps. Chris Collins and Tom Reed) will have admitted publicly the scariness of the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency.
But by then almost all of them will have endorsed him, however tepidly. What does it say about roughly one-half of the voters and one-half of our elected officials when they are manifestly aware of Trump’s disqualifying faults and yet claim with a straight face that he would be better than Hillary Clinton (or Bernie Sanders)? How long must we endure party politics of this sort?
