ALABAMA – Two people from Montgomery County have been charged with the attempted robbery of a Genesee County smoke shop.

The attempted robbery occurred just before 3 a.m. Friday at Smoke Rings Smoke Shop on Shanks Road, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Mistydawn Souza, 26, of St. Johnsonville, and Jeremy J. Reynolds, 34, of Johnstown, were arrested at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities got a tip Reynolds was seen walking in the area of the smoke shop several hours after the robbery. That led police to identifying the suspects, with the assistance of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Both suspects were held without bail and remanded to the Genesee County Jail. They are due in Alabama Town Court on June 2.
