‘Approval’ ballots could be of great use to voters
After reading Kathleen Parker’s op-ed column, “Preventing future Trumps,” I think we should give her ideas some consideration.
It could be applied to all governmental elected positions. “Approval” ballots could be of great use. Take, for instance, Congress’ very low approval rating – voilà – we could have a wholesale turnover of Congress.
When the president’s approval rating goes in the tank – voilà – we could have a new president.
If the citizens of the United States don’t approve the use of private servers for emails of high-ranking government officials – voilà – they could have their day in court.
Maybe the rise of Trump goes a little further than, “at least he speaks his mind.” But by now, that should be obvious to all.
