Letter: Town needs to resolve problems at Westwood

Town needs to resolve problems at Westwood

Enough is enough. The quality of life in the Westwood neighborhood has declined since Westwood was deemed a brownfield in December 2014 and ringed by a chain-link fence in August 2015. Since then, we haven’t witnessed any improvements to the site, nor does it seem the town leadership is interested in taking the necessary steps to advance this project.

The Amherst Town Board’s lack of leadership demonstrates a lack of concern for our neighborhood. The town should work with Mensch Capital to improve the quality of life for those who live near the Westwood site and ensure Amherst remains safe and accessible.
