LaSalle cars targeted in break-ins but very little stolen

NIAGARA FALLS – Three cars were broken into in a three-block section of LaSalle overnight Thursday, Niagara falls police reported.

One of the targets was an unlocked garage on 63rd Street, where a pickup was broken into and keys and two packs of cigarettes were stolen. A laptop computer on a counter inside the garage was left untouched, police said.

One of those cigarette packs was found alongside a vehicle that was broken into in the 100 block of 61st Street, said police, who added that although the vehicle had been rummaged through, nothing was missing.

Nothing was taken from another car entered in the 100 block of 62nd Street, said police, who noted a foot-long scratch was found on the outside of the car. Damage was estimated at $100.
