It’s a lush refuge that rose from the site of a city dump. Tifft Nature Preserve is 264 acres of greenery and wildlife tucked between the abandoned grain elevators and deserted steel plant south of downtown Buffalo. Its 5 miles of trails wind past a cattail marsh, fishing pond, woods and fields that are home to animals that roam freely, a world away from the clamor of the city.
