Buffalonian sentenced in drug case

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Thursday that Dana Washington, 36, of Buffalo, who was convicted of possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, crack cocaine, was sentenced to 77 months in prison by U.S District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Adler, who is handling the case, stated that in January 2013, the defendant sold a half ounce of crack cocaine to a confidential source working with the Drug Enforcement Administration near Kensington and Fillmore Avenues in Buffalo. Washington sold a second quantity of cocaine to the confidential source in February of 2013 at William Street and Michigan Avenue in Buffalo.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division.
