The Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority approved $1.5 million in improvements Thursday at seven of its developments.
The improvements, BMHA officials said, include $829,000 at LaSalle Courts and Kelly Gardens.
LaSalle – in North Buffalo – will get new lighting, sidewalks and ramps, while Kelly – off Bailey Avenue – will get new sidewalks as well as additional common space, including a senior exercise station.
At Scattered Site C, 19 units in eight buildings scattered around the city will all get full interior rehabilitations at a cost of $350,000.
Schaffer Village and the Kowal, Elmhurst and 38 Tower St. apartments will get a total of $340,000. Hallways at Schaffer – in Black Rock/Riverside – will be repaired, while Kowal Apartments off Walden Avenue will get new stoves. Elmhurst Apartments in North Buffalo will get new laundry hook-ups and Tower Street apartments, off Suffolk Street, will get new windows and related repairs.
