Town of Niagara man takes plea in beating

LOCKPORT – A Town of Niagara man wept in Niagara County Court Wednesday as he pleaded guilty to walloping a man in the head with a blunt object last year.

Cory Lewis, 27, of Tuscarora Road, was allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, third-degree assault, after having been indicted for a felony in connection with the March 21, 2015, attack on Clifford Kendzia in an apparent landlord-tenant dispute. Kendzia suffered facial fractures in the attack at his business, Kenzia Tire on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls.

Judge Sara Sheldon could send Lewis to jail for a year when he returns to court July 28.
