Jamestown police looking for information in ‘brutal assault’

JAMESTOWN – A man was brutally assaulted by two men early Monday morning on a pathway along the Chadakoin River between N. Main and Institute streets, Jamestown Police said.

The man told police he was walking on the pathway just before 2:30 a.m. when the attack happened.

While they did not release specific details about the assault, police believe the assailants may have disclosed their crime to others “given the brutal nature of this crime.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 483-8477 or the department at 483-7537. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
