A Buffalo man was sentenced to three years probation and six months home detention Wednesday following his conviction in federal court on charges of distributing oxymorphone.
Vincent Sawicki, 64, sold 40 tablets of the powerful, semi-snythetic opiod analgesic to an undercover officer on April 11, 2011, in the 2100 block of South Park Avenue, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank T. Pimentel, who handled the case. A month prior to that, Sawicki sold 70 oxycodone tablets to another individual who had visited his residence, Pimentel said.
Wednesday’s sentencing by U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara was the result of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigation under the direction of James J. Hunt, Special Agent in Charge, New York Field Division.
