Prison inmate charged with family offense

LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man who is serving parole violation time in Wende Correctional Facility pleaded not guilty to a new felony Monday in Niagara County Court.

Vincent K. Martin, 49, of Ely Avenue, is charged with aggravated family offense for allegedly violating a restraining order by making phone calls to his wife from the Niagara Falls Police Department lockup Nov. 4. He was arrested on domestic violence charges, Assistant District Attorney Lisa M. Baehre said. He returned to state prison Nov. 12.

Martin was paroled in 2008 from a sentence of six years to life, imposed in 2003 for possession of a large amount of drugs. He is due for release from Wende June 29, Assistant Public Defender Matthew P. Pynn said.
