A University Heights man awoke Sunday morning to the sounds of a burglar, who made off with several items, Buffalo police reported.
The man told Northeast District officers that just before 6 a.m. the burglar forcibly entered his home in the first block of Winspear Avenue through a rear window. The man heard someone going up and down the stairs and called out, according to a report.
The suspect wearing a red jacket, blue jeans, a blue hoodie and a baseball cap was seen fleeing out the window southbound through yards, police said. The incident may have been captured on home video surveillance, police said.
U.S. Mint collectible coins, $300 from the victim’s wallet and jewelry were reportedly stolen.
