Letter: We’d be foolish to choose leader with no experience

We’d be foolish to choose leader with no experience

I dreamed I hired subcontractors who had no experience in their crafts to build a house. The carpenters, plumbers, electricians, framers, excavators and landscapers all lacked experience. Not only were they proud of the fact, they boasted about their lack of experience.

Once the house was built, it sagged. Wires shorted. A fire started. Gas leaked from an improperly installed gas furnace and it exploded. The fire was ready to consume the entire house. But it was saved by water pouring out of pipes that had burst. The house that took a hundred days to build was a moist lump of nothingness.

If the U.S. electorate hires leaders who brag they have no political experience and are proud of the fact, then our country is a moist lump of nothingness. It will be our nightmare.
