A closing celebration is planned this Friday and Saturday at Kenmore Middle School, 155 Delaware Road.
The celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday with an open house at the school, one of three closing next month as part of the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District’s consolidation plan.
Past yearbooks, photographs, jerseys and other memorabilia will line each floor chronicling the history of the school as it went from Kenmore High to Kenmore Junior High to Kenmore Middle.
Food trucks Lloyd’s, Frank’s Gourmet Hot Dogs and Just Pizza will be on site from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A program in the auditorium beginning at 8 p.m. will feature the school’s alumni chorus and band and include a narration of what the school was like in each decade since it opened in 1924.
An adults-only gala begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Banchetti by Rizzo’s, 550 N. French Road, Amherst. There will be an open bar of wine and beer and food stations. Tickets for $35 each will be available at the door.
