Please tell us about yourself:
As a second generation resident of the Village of Wilson, and a graduate of Wilson Central School myself, I have a deep love and respect for our community and our school. My 34 year career as a teacher allows me to bring an educational perspective to the School Board. As a lifelong resident of Wilson, I am thoroughly familiar with the community and the school district. Besides being a retired teacher, I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a Wilson Taxpayer who lives on a fixed income. I have always believed that we should do all we can to help our children become the future leaders of America.
Please describe the top issues facing your school district and how you would address them as a school board member:
I feel that some of the top issues facing Wilson Central School would be: * restore some of the many cuts to faculty and staff that had to be done when state funding was taken from us. * improve the technology of elementary and middle/high schools
Do you think public education in New York is headed in the right direction? No
Please explain why, in 100 words or less:
I really wanted to say, "undecided." Especially in the primary grades, the "powers that be" have totally forgotten what is "developmentally appropriate" for each grade level. Not everyone learns at the same rate or for that matter in the same way as they want the students to be taught.
