MAYVILLE – Seven municipalities will compete to see which has the best-tasting drinking water in Chautauqua County at a taste test sponsored by the county’s Department of Health and Human Services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chautauqua Mall, 318 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood.
Shoppers at the mall will take sips of each and vote for the one they like best. The winner will represent the county in the Western New York regional competition.
Taking part will be the villages of Brocton, Fredonia, Mayville and Westfield, along with the cities of Dunkirk and Jamestown and the Town of Carroll, which serves Frewsburg. Last year’s winner was Jamestown.
