Play about showing respect to debut Saturday at Canisius

“Have You Filled A Bucket Today? The Play,” which looks to instill kindness toward others, will be presented at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday in the Marie Maday Theatre, Lyons Hall, Canisius College, 2001 Main St.

Peaceful Schools and 3rd Act Theatre will present the play, written by Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead and based on Carol McCloud’s award-winning books; well-suited for pre-K through fifth-graders.

The play uses humor, heart, and larger-than-life characters to teach students the concepts of bucket filling and bucket dipping. This theatrical adaptation is a fun and effective way to teach students how to treat each other with kindness and respect.

Peaceful Schools has been touring this production in more than 60 schools in the Central New York area since 2013 and in 2015 expanded to Western New York with a second touring cast.

A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Child & Adolescent Treatment Services, a nonprofit organization dedicated to treating children ages 3 to 21 with mental health challenges.

Tickets cost $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under, available at peacefulschools.com and at the door.
