LOCKPORT – Almost 2,900 New York State Electric & Gas customers have lost power Wednesday morning.
Close to 1,800 customers in the City of Lockport and more than 1,000 customers in the Town of Lockport are projected to have their electricity back at about 9:30 a.m., the utility said on its website.
Lockport High School, Emmet Belknap Intermediate and Roy B. Kelley Elementary are closed Wednesday because of the power failure.
The number of customers who lost power grew shortly before 8 a.m. from about 1,600 customers.
No information was immediately available on what caused it.
