Main Street Marketplace – the 16-week, open-air farmers market in West Seneca – returns for its third season on Thursday.
The market has two dozen vendors offering a variety of goods lined up for this season, including local produce from Weiss Farms and Kate’s Country Cousins; brewed coffee and beans from Kornerstone Coffee; fresh-baked treats from Duke’s Donuts; wine and hard cider from Chateau Buffalo; and Donna’s Pepper Jam and Jellies.
This year, there will also be a Family Fun Zone featuring hula hoops, a beanbag toss and oversized games such as Jenga and Connect 4.
Main Street Marketplace takes place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, rain or shine, through Sept. 1. When the weather cooperates, it is held on the grassy hill at the corner of Union Road and Main Street, next to West Seneca Town Hall. When the weather is inclement, the market is moved into the parking lot in front of the West Seneca Ice Rink. Parking is plentiful, but walking and biking are encouraged.
Organizers have also announced the entertainment for the 2016 season, which is scheduled from approximately 5:30 to 7 p.m. each week unless noted. Attendees can bring a chair or blanket.
