MUSICAL AND POETIC TRIBUTE: Concerts for the Soul presents “A Weekend of Peaceprints: A Musical-Poetic Tribute to Sister Karen Klimczak” at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Sundayat SS Columba-Brigid Church, 75 Hickory St. Tenor Cory James Gallagher and his sister, writer-poet Amy Gallagher, will team up for the tribute. Donations will be accepted. A portion will be donated to PeacePrints of WNY.
STARPOINT FOOD TRUCK FEST: The third annual Art, Music, and Food Truck Festival will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday on the Starpoint Central School District campus, 4363 Mapleton Road. Admission is $5 per car. Attendees are invited to have dinner at one of 10 food trucks, check out the classic cars, listen to student music performances and look over student artwork. There will also be a laser maze. Proceeds go toward maintaining the Dale L. Askey Memorial Courtyard.
RANSOMVILLE BIRD WALK: A free, guided spring bird walk is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Bond Lake Park on Lower Mountain Road, Ransomville. The meeting spot for the 9:30 to 11 a.m. walk is the parking lot next to Bond Lake, the big lake next to the road, where a mute swan was recently spotted. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and a camera, and boots are recommended. Only heavy rain will cancel this event. STAR GAZING: The Wilson Star Search is beginning another season of gazing at the skies over Lake Ontario when it invites the public to meet at dusk Saturday at Krueger Park on Lake Road. Members of the Buffalo Astronomical Society will be on hand to share their powerful telescopes, and participants are invited to bring their own telescopes as well, according to organizer Steven Smith. This is the ninth year the group will meet in the same spot on the second Saturday of each month, May through October. Visit Wilson Star Search on Facebook. DANCE RECITAL: Studio J will present its annual dance recital, “Rock This Town” at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tralf Music Hall, 622 Main St. The show will highlight women- and minority-owned businesses in Western New York.
