Corrections officer faces misconduct charge for buying clothes for inmate

ALBION – A corrections officer at Orleans Correctional Facility has been charged with official misconduct, State Police said Tuesday.

Officer Andrea Benke bought clothing for an inmate and bought prepaid cell phones to talk with the inmate during business hours, the agency said.

Benke was charged with the misdemeanor on Thursday.

She was issued an appearance ticket for Albion Town Court, State Police said.
