Car break-ins hit Boston, Concord, Elma and Grand Island

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to lock their car doors after numerous break-ins have been reported over the last few days throughout Western New York.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, nearly 20 car break-ins have been reported in Boston, Concord, Elma and Grand Island. Items stolen have included purses, change, mail, credit cards, checkbooks, driver’s licenses and other personal items. The break-ins have occurred overnight as well as during the day, and thieves have broken windows and entered unlocked cars to steal the valuables.

Residents are reminded to remove anything of value from their vehicles, and to lock the doors, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Suspicious activity should be reported immediately to local law enforcement agencies, the Sheriff’s Office said, adding that the number for the Sheriff’s Office is 858-2903.
