Buffalo man apprehended in ‘shots fired’ incident

A Buffalo man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon Monday afternoon in connection with a “shots fired” call Sunday.

Deshaun Goodwin, 21, also was charged with unlawful fleeing of a police officer, resisting arrest and other charges.

According to police, surveillance cameras located at Genesee Street and Walden Avenue picked up the “shots fired” incident in progress at about 5:10 p.m. Sunday. The cameras picked up a white Nissan Frontier, from which Goodwin may have shot at another vehicle.

At about 4:45 p.m. the next day, officers from the Ferry-Fillmore district spotted a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle caught by the cameras. At that point, the vehicle sped away, passing through several stop signs. Goodwin bailed out of the vehicle on Wex Avenue, and began running through yards. He was caught on the 100 block of Wood Avenue, police said.

A loaded revolver was also found in the area, police said.
