SANBORN – Grace L. Plotner of Newfane died unexpectedly Saturday after she suffered a medical emergency in a dormitory on the campus of Niagara County Community College. She was 22.
A graduate of Newfane High School, Miss Plotner was a liberal arts student and was majoring in music at NCCC. She was very active in drama and theater at the college.
She reportedly was wearing a cardiac pacemaker that stopped working. State Police and a Rural/Metro Medical Services ambulance were called to attend to Miss Plotner just after 11 a.m. Saturday when she was found to be unresponsive.
She was taken by ambulance to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, where she was pronounced dead.
Survivors include her parents, Timothy R. and Mary Lynn Plotner; two sisters, Sarah and Elizabeth; her maternal grandmother, Emily Cramer; her paternal grandparents, Roger and Sandra Plotner; and her stepfather, Michael Wurthman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Tuscarora Baptist Church, 2088 Mount Hope Road.
