The final four in the National Lacrosse League playoffs became set on Saturday night. Calgary edged Colorado, 11-10 in overtime, in Denver to win the first-round game in the West Division.
The Roughnecks advanced to the West final. They will play the Saskatchewan Rush in the best-of-two series, beginning in Calgary on Saturday, May 14.
Dane Dobbie of the Roughnecks had the game-winner wtih 4:43 left in the first overtime period. Curtis Dickson scored with 25 seconds left in regulation time for Calgary to send the game to the extra period.
The NLL East final became set on Friday night. New England knocked off Georgia in the first round. The Black Wolves earned the chance to play the Buffalo Bandits.
That series begins on Monday, May 16, in Uncasville, Conn. in New England’s home arena, which was booked the preceding three nights and thus unavailable. The teams will then finish the matchup on Saturday, May 21, in the First Niagara Center. If the teams are tied at 1-1 after the two games, a 10-minute mini-game will immediately follow the regulation game.
Buffalo won two of three games over New England in the regular season. All of those games were won by the home team.
