Accused outlet mall shoplifters foiled in bid to evade detectors

TOWN OF NIAGARA – Town police said two Buffalo women used a large purse lined with tinfoil to steal $274 worth of clothing from a store in the Prime Outlets of Niagara last week.

The two were arrested Wednesday following the incident in The Children’s Place. Police said the foil was use din an attempt to thwart to security sensors at the store’s entrance.

Charged with petit larceny and possession of burglary tools are Michelle R. Brown, 34, of Nevada Avenue, and Tawiah N. Posey, 22, of Busti Avenue. Posey also was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance – six bags of heroin, police said.
