Caggiula stormed onto the wish list of numerous teams after recording 25 goals and 51 points in 39 games. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound left winger was named North Dakota's Male Athlete of the Year on Thursday night.
The Sabres struggled to find scoring on the left side behind Evander Kane, and Caggiula could have competed for a spot on the top two lines.
