I am a graduate of Newfane Senior High School. I attended Canisius College where I received a Bachelors of Science in Biology as well as Secondary Education. After graduation I taught for five years, before I decided to pursue a career in science. I currently work as a Clinical Cytogenetic Technologist. We moved back to Newfane so that our children (age 6 and 7) can attend Newfane Central School district and will experience many of the wonderful opportunities that the school has to offer.

My main goal is to ensure that our children have the best education within the best possible learning environment as well as opening and maintaining effective means of communication and cooperation from the Newfane Board of education with the community, staff, and administration.
Do you think public education in New York is headed in the right direction? Yes
Please explain why, in 100 words or less:
I would prefer not to answer this question as simply a yes or no. I believe that many changes are put in place with good intentions but are left in place even when the original objective is not met. I think with new leadership in the State Education department and including teachers in policy making will help to improve public education in our state.
