People should stop maligning Paladino, Trump, supporters
I saw the editorial cartoon that The News allowed to be published, which insinuated that Carl Paladino is a racist. I was disgusted that The News would allow such a trashing of a good man. I don’t know him personally, but by every indication that I can think of, Paladino has been a positive influence on Western New York, providing employment for thousands over the years. Now this rich man, who doesn’t need the trouble, is trying to help the students of the City of Buffalo out of the goodness of his heart, and this is what he gets.
I went to the Trump rally a few weeks back and was called horrible names like racist, bigot, etc. I don’t even know anybody who is a racist or bigot. I guess people are doing this because I don’t vote for the Democratic Party. I didn’t know that calling millions of people – your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers – horrible names is OK if you’re doing it for political gain.
Calling people horrible names that you know are false, for political reasons, is wrong. Anytime I see this happening, it reminds me that any idea or position that needs somebody else to be “evil” in some way doesn’t stand on its own. There are many ways to skin a cat. Maybe some people need to re-examine their positions, or even better, do the research necessary to simply know what they’re talking about.
