Bar altercation leads to manslaughter charge in St. Catharines

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – A St. Catharines, Ont., man faces a manslaughter charge after a man died following a dispute outside a bar in December.

Niagara Regional Police on Wednesday charged Thomas Bellefeuille, 49, in the death of Jonathan Lougheed. An altercation between the two men happened Dec. 1 and Lougheed was found dead in his Rykert Street home on Dec. 3, police said.

Lougheed had been taken to the hospital after the altercation, but left before receiving treatment, authorities said.

Bellefeuille, who is in police custody, will appear in court Thursday morning.
