St. Joe's football players to make commitments official Thursday

St., Joe’s standout Dan Carr will be one of four Marauders football players officially announcing their college plans during a ceremony at St. Joe’s at 3 p.m. Thursday,

Carr, a three-year starter, was one of the main anchors for St. Joe’s offensive line. The Cheektowaga resident will join the University at Buffalo as a preferred walk-on.

Ryan Conschafter of Williamsville was a versatile player for the Marauders, playing running back and linebacker last season. The future Hobart and William Smith College Statesmen athlete rushed for six of his eight touchdowns, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. He also caught two TDs, averaging 13.2 yards per catch. On defense, he finished with 46 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Chris Schaefer, a receiver, caught eight passes last season with a TD, averaging 14.1 yards per catch. He will attend Division III Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Ohio. Linebacker/lineman David Lauer will attend Buffalo State.
