Vehicle is intentionally struck during a chase

LOCKPORT – A driver told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday that he was chased in his vehicle for no apparent reason by some men in a mud-covered Jeep. He said a passenger in the Jeep intentionally smashed the Jeep’s door into his vehicle on Ridge Road in the Town of Hartland.

The victim said he drove away, but the Jeep continued to chase him for an unknown reason. During the chase the passenger also struck the side of his vehicle with a shovel.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle on Bob O Link Lane in Lockport.

The driver, Austin J. Hillman, 21, of Lonnon Road, Barker, was charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct. The passenger, Jonathan Bull, 19, of Haight Road, Barker, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
