Syracuse tops Canisius in resumption of suspended game

Fifth-ranked Syracuse avoided a loss that could have damaged its postseason women's lacrosse seeding by defeating Canisius College, 13-11, Tuesday in the resumption of their game suspended a month ago because of a snowstorm.

Play resumed with the score tied, 10-10, and just over six minutes remaining.

While a Canisius victory would have been the most significant win in program history, more important matters await. The Griffs continue their quest for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's automatic NCAA Tournament berth when they host Fairfield at 8 p.m. Friday.
