The company that makes Original Pizza Logs broke ground Tuesday on its $3.9 million project to build a new production facility in Wheatfield.
Finger Food Products plans to create 11 new jobs and retain 16 positions through a project that will increase the size of its facility by about 30 percent. Company officials said the expansion will help Finger Food Products meet rising demand for its Original Pizza Logs and help it expand into new markets.
The company, which has been making Original Pizza Logs for more than 20 years, is building the new 30,000-square-foot factory in the Vantage International Point industrial park because it has outgrown its existing 23,000-square-foot facility in the Rainbow Industrial Center on Niagara Falls Boulevard, also in Wheatfield. Company executives have said its current building was never designed for food processing.
The company is getting up to $243,000 in tax credits over a 10-year period through the Excelsior Job Program, which hinge on Finger Food Products meeting its investment and job creation promises. It also is receiving 100 kilowatts of low-costs electricity from the New York Power Authority.
