Restaurant replacing Dug's Dive opening this week

The updated Buffalo Outer Harbor restaurant that started as Dug’s Dive unveils its new incarnation on Friday.

Charlie’s Boat Yard , 1111 Fuhrmann Blvd., has added patio space, extensively renovated its interiors, and added more seafood to the menu, said operator Charles Goodspeed. “We changed the color scheme, recovered and resurfaced the bar, put in new tables and chairs,” he said.

“Hopefully, we’ll have the new patio and outdoor bar ready by Memorial Day,” he said. The 1,800-square-foot area would add about 60 seats, for a total of about 128, and include a lounge area.

The menu, readable at charliesboatyard.com, will include cod fish and chips, scallops, shrimp and more seafood, he said.

Charlie’s Boat Yard is owned by Goodspeed’s wife Mary, and John Skipper, Goodspeed said. The landlord is Safe Harbor, which is leasing the area from the N.Y. State Parks.

The grand opening is 2 p.m. May 6, he said.
