Man believed to have gun is instead found with candy

Buffalo police were called to investigate a report of a man with a gun Sunday morning in a restaurant in the 3100 block of Main Street. Instead of a gun, police found the man carrying packs of candy and junk food which were hidden in his jacket liner.

The goods valued at $30 or more had allegedly been stolen from a nearby 7-Eleven. No gun was reportedly found by police

Gregory Curry, 22, of Lisbon Avenue, was charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen goods.
