Literacy New York Buffalo-Niagara, a regional provider of free one-on-one adult literacy services, elected Deanna Boynton and Jennifer Atwal to its board of directors for three-year terms. Boynton is a buyer at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. Atwal, a longtime supporter of literacy, volunteers throughout the community, serving various organizations and providing philanthropic support.


The Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo elected Therese M. Vita to its board of trustees. Vita is with Merrill Lynch.


Lumsden & McCormick appointed Kristin Re’ to the firm’s Tax Department after completing an internship with its consulting division, Brisbane Consulting Group. Re’ is a master’s degree graduate of Niagara University.

Millington Lockwood recently restructured its operations into three distinct business groups. The business units, Business Interiors, Structures Group and Pre-owned, formerly Ridgeway, will all work together under the Millington Lockwood brand. Business Interiors focuses on delivering diverse furnishings to a customer’s work environment. The Structures Group provides the new layouts for a building’s interior from floor to ceiling, and the Pre-owned division refurbishes office furnishings tailored to customers’ needs.


Aperitivo, a modern American restaurant with a Mediterranean-based menu, opened by at 9430 Transit Road in East Amherst by Nick Klentos. The menu offers small plates, flatbreads, burgers and entrees. Lunches also include sandwiches and wraps.
