LEWISTON – The Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy will offer an “open house” information session for individuals interested in careers in law enforcement at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Dunleavy Hall, room 127 on the Niagara University campus. The academy is also accepting applications for its next class of recruits and pre-employment students. The next part-time academy will be held from Sept. 6 to May 10.
The Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy was founded in 1973 to serve police agencies in Niagara County, but has since expanded to train recruits for law enforcement agencies in Erie, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming and Livingston counties. The academy has been approved by the Division of Criminal Justice to train pre-employment recruits and civilians throughout New York state who are interested in careers in law enforcement.
